Every lesson and individual is unique but understanding that success is 90% mental can
be the game-changer. My goal is to help you improve your natural abilities by
connecting your intellect and desire to achieve lasting performance breakthroughs.
I am a lifelong student of the mental game. My favorite sport psychologists include Dr. Bob Rotella, Dr. David Cook, and Dr. Deborah Graham—leaders in mental performance and player development.

With over 20 years of experience as a Direct Support Professional, I have worked extensively with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. My Adaptive Golf Program is designed to help young adults build confidence and independence in the community through the empowering experience of golf. We also offer a unique Adaptive Golf Membership at Salmon Creek.
Gary has dedicated his expertise to various state and local boards, contributing to the
field of PGA, education, church and Special Olympics. With multiple certifications and
accolades in public speaking, he is recognized for his impactful contributions.
Gary and his wife Claudette are the proud parents of four and are celebrating 22 years
as hosts of their beloved ‘Grandkid Camp’ for their eight grandchildren.
The on-course playing assessment and
on-course playing session are integral to all my packages. During these sessions, we'll
apply insights from our assessment in real time during a two-hour session on the golf
course. We’ll enhance your pre-shot routine, boost concentration, and build trust in your
shot execution. In addition, packages include private coaching sessions and virtual
coaching.
Cost is based on $100.00 per hour. (3 and 6 session packages)
Start by identifying the real strengths and weaknesses in your game where it counts — on the course. During this session, I’ll observe your decision making, club selection, routines, and emotional responses under real playing conditions. This gives us a true performance baseline and helps tailor your improvement plan with clarity and purpose.
On-Course Playing Session: Take your game from the range to the golf course with this on-course playing session. We’ll apply insights from your assessment in real-time, helping you sharpen your pre-shot routine, manage the course more effectively, and build confidence in your decision-making. This experience is designed to help you trust your game where it matters most.
Private Coaching (1 hour) is a dedicated service I provide to help my students refocus
and get back on track during unproductive periods.
I do provide a one-hour coaching session focused on enhancing your swing.
Cost is based on $100.00 per hour.
Welcome to our Beginner Golf Package! Perfect for new players, this package covers all the essentials: etiquette, putting, short game, irons, and woods. You'll enjoy five sessions of training with high-success games and on-course coaching, designed to build your skills and confidence. By the end, you'll be ready to play with pride!
The cost is $350.00 for six hours of coaching.
Join the Club: If you're Struggling to break through your performance barriers, consider joining Gary's Coach Training Club. Gary shares his 3-6-9-12 strategy, combined with insights from top sports psychology experts. Customized Coaching tailored to your needs, along with targeted field training, will elevate your game to the next level.
Cost is based on $100.00 per hour.
These programs are tailored for your family or
group, allowing you to choose the day, time, and date that fits your needs throughout
the summer. Enjoy seven-and one-half hours of Coaching on the golf course and in the
field. This program covers all fundamentals appropriate to age and ability: putting, short
game, irons, woods, etiquette, rules, training drills, and on course coaching is included.
No equipment necessary for little spikes and beginners. 'Play It Forward' skills
challenges and games will excite Little Spikes and challenge even the most
accomplished players.
The cost is $600.00 per camp
Elevate your golf game with our comprehensive program, featuring 10 one-hour sessions designed to take your game to the next level. You’ll benefit from our full range of facilities, including indoor golf area with state-of-the-art simulators, a dedicated practice area, a driving range, and on course instruction. With a class size of just four students, you’ll receive personalized coaching and ample practice opportunities. The entire program is available for just $500.00 per student.
Available June through September, each camp includes 6 hours of coaching and 8 hours of golf. Sessions run 3.5 hours and cover all fundamentals through fun, age-appropriate play.
Make Your Own Group
• Gather 4 athletes
• Choose your preferred day and dates
• Start times: 7:30 AM, 9:00 AM, or 10:30 AM
Additional Notes:
• A parent or guardian must accompany the athlete for one of the five sessions
• Equipment can be provided if needed
• Practice between sessions is encouraged

Salmon Creek is fortunate to have PGA Professional Gary Tatar who offers lessons to all age groups and skill levels.
Gary Tatar PGA professional elected to membership in 1977, a graduate of PGA business schools I & II. Gary has taught at Genesee Community College in the Golf Management Program, is certified as a K-Vest TPI Golf Instructor, and certified as a Special Olympics Golf Coach.
Gary has served as a teaching professional at the Lancaster, Yahnundasis, Chili, and Mill Creek golf clubs. Today Gary primarily teaches at Salmon Creek Country Club. He has extensive experience with with all level golfers. Gary will assess your game and recommend a strategy to ensure your success.
Gary is a student of the game, he is inspired and models Harvey Penick’s simple, direct, and practical teaching approach. He stresses the importance of understanding fundamentals and shot shape to instill confidence in playing the game. He combines the latest sports psychology, fitness, and course management training to help you achieve the highest level performance you are capable.
